A couple weeks ago I was reading the labels on jars of spaghetti sauce to compare ingredients. Prego listed that it contained 'bioengineered ingredients.' At least they admitted it. Hard pass on that.

Not surprising re Campbell's. When I was a kid decades ago, my favorite Campbell's soup was Chicken Vegetable. One day, I opened a can and it looked different. Ends up that Campbell's had changed its recipe somehow*. It tasted awful and was a definite step down in quality. I wrote them a letter and was basically told "sorry but we changed the recipe so that's all we have but it's so good!" I never ate that soup again and as I got older, bought fewer other flavors. I haven't bought or eaten a can of Campbell's soup in at least 30 years.

* Based on my decades of experience making soup, I think one big change that Campbell's made was to take out the little bit of tomato paste and/or pumpkin puree that was put in to give subtle taste and slight color and body. I think some vegetables were changed too and maybe the chicken, but I don't recall.
