Not just food prices. Five years ago, a friend advised me to get another cellphone company. He paid only 25 $ monthly. Having trouble lately I checked, it is now 50 for the 'cheap' and 60 for the 'better' service. That is without international calls. Add another 15 $ to call my family overseas.
This is one of the 'cheap' services. the other 3 available in town are even higher. So I will have to stay with my old provider I guess.
I am going to the store now. See if the prices have gone down. Sigh. We might have to move to Russia soon.
I did need some groceries. The tomatoes were on sale ! .85 a pound! Thank God we still have some concurrence in town - they all have to fight for their customers.
As always, necessity dictates. I realize that I am in a unique position, but in terms of perishable food stuffs, I get everything that I don't grow/raise myself (meat, dairy, vegetables) from my local Amish community... that way I know where, and from whom it comes... and have yet to get sick from eating lettuce.. :)
Ah! We got some Mennonites here in GA but as far as I know no Amish. You are lucky! My 'garden' is limited to some herbs and wild veggies - dry, arid, sandy, hard soil. Even after spending 1000 $ very little came of it.
My cell service is a basic service of 15 dollars a month (unlimited text and calls) and if I use too much data, it comes to 20 bucks. Unless you are watching endless streaming, there are still cheap services available.
Yes that is probably the same I got. And I pay about 10 - 15 $ a month for my international calling. But lately I had several problems with the service and was looking for a second phone! I do not stream anything at all, and mostly use my computer for anything else but phone calls. FK that LOL.

The prices have not gone down... My advice is to save your gas.

Try raised beds! They work for me! :)
Worked for a few years, then nothing. Now growing stuff in buckets and flower pots - mostly herbs. All the lettuce died even though I watered daily.

Google Voice numbers? BUT i don't think they work for bank verification codes etc and everyone these days wants to send a verification code.....
I got TracFone. Have had it for 20 years now. I have no idea what Google voice numbers is LOL. Not very tech here.
