While I generally agree with the sentiments expressed, there are legitimate uses of psychiatric drugs. After a lifetime of emotional chaos, my gf of 11 years finally got on some mood-stabilizing drugs, and we had over a year of relative calm and happiness. Then last week her pastor told her convinced her that she didn't need them and she stopped taking them. Within days she relapsed on drugs and cheated on me.
Many things could also be causing the underlying behavior-issues e.g. genetics, parasitic infections, drug use-abuse, thyroid issues, sleep problems, head trauma, or just overwhelming emotional trauma BUT some of these psychiatric drugs can make you immediately psychotic-suicidal etc IF you stop using them and are overprescribed. With that said, your GF's pastor had no f**king business doing that as he is probably not an expert on such drugs or knows her full medical and personal history... I hope she gets objective medical-psyciatric advice and gets better...
