Most of these people, like the Obama's, have more than one house. They do not need more than one house, in fact the one there can easily make home for several families. shame on me I never saw that movie. Now I have to ! But I do remember in wartime, how rich people's homes serve as shelter. I remember seeing a movie about the civil war like that, but don't know if it was real.
There is also a documentary about Pasternak - same thing happened to his family or wife's family in real life... They moved into one room of their mansion which they latter put up brick walls inside of to turn into an apartment... When he eventually became a well known writer but before he wrote his most famous book which got him into trouble, they gave him a country dacha...
