As a white boy in the 60s in LA, I breathed the same smog that "people of color", including USC running back OJ Simpson, breathed. That smog was much worse than today; it contained lead, carbon monoxide, oxides of nitrogen, ozone, and unburned hydrocarbons. It made my chest and throat hurt. And here I am, still here and healthy at 63. And nearly as far away from LA as I can be and still be in America. Air pollution is way down on the list of LA's problems today.

the last one makes me think of a small place in Germany, where the population consists of 70 % Turkish people. They bullied the remainder of the German kids to a point that it made front page news years ago
