i came here from the link you just posted on berenson's substack. after a little look around, i subscribed because i like what i see here- good memes are worth it.
berenson had some excellent reporting on covid, but he's way off on everything else it seems. i suspected from the start that he'd turn out this way, but i subscribed to him anyway as the covid coverage was good and i like to keep an eye on the enemy.
I appreciated Alex's coverage of COVID when he was the only one covering it critically BUT then he started lashing out and seems to resent others who joined the "party" later on...
I also remember him lashing out out Frontline Doctors on Twitter when they sent him a private message (which he screenshotted and posted!) asking for a chat - think what you want about them BUT that was not called for and was a turn off... (I don't think he asked their permission either so VERY UNPROFESSIONAL but hey, like girls from TX trailer parks, you can boot the bluecheck/former NYT reporter off twitter but you can't take twitter/NYTs out of them!)
I am mainly collecting and organizing them better into themes BUT will keep doing some satire writing (which takes time) as I don't think we have enough of that....
I do like the satire! I hope this Substack will also grow to other topics beyond covid, and explore the connections between them all.
I remember AB doing those things you meniton, and it put me off too.
His attack on Malone was revealing. My guess was that Malone was showing signs of becoming a potential political figure that might threaten AB's affiliations. I don't agree with Malone on everything, and he seems a bit naive in his faith in the political party system. It's probably just because he's a newcomer down the rabbit hole and still clings to the hope that things can be fixed by an election. I do expect Malone will soon become a political figure himself, and I hope he won't be making a mistake by doing so.
Another observation about AB - for most of his journalism career he's had little to no direct engagement with dissenting reader opinions. On Twitter he encountered some, but it was in the usual short exchanges of insults that Twitter is known for. On Substack, he's encountering far more sophisticated criticism than he's used to. He's not handling it well.
Steve Kirsch is a real expert on many things but he is staying focused on COVID-vaccines on his substack AND he actually reads-replies to comments albeit I found his original interview that got him started to be a little bit of a turnoff e.g. he talked over the other two during it... Nevertheless, he is also putting his money where his mouth is AND you don't have to pay him $ to comment on his posts (Malone has comments from non-paying subscribers turned off) as that creates a bit of an echochamber e.g. only fans are going to pay $, not critics...
Malone and politics? Not aware of that beyond the fact that he lives on a horse farm in VA - so its possible he could run for something there BUT I don't think Dr Oz is getting very far in PA (he lives in NJ and works in NYC which does not help) - have not heard much recently about that...
As for Malone and politics - that's my intuitive sense. He hasn't made any real moves in that direction, except for an enthusiastic endorsement of Desantis. I just get a strong feeling that he'll be drawn into the political scene, whether he has plans to or not.
Overall he seems like a good man, and the farming and love of animals counts for a lot with me. I just hope he doesn't get lured into a political machine that would end badly for him.
Everything correct except for the bullshit China lab leak story

I've heard of Kirsch but haven't read his site.
