these last memes are what I remarked to several friends. Born and raised in Europe, we had several paid holidays, paid vacation (4 weeks after 1 year working full time), sick days, paid, health care (NOT insurance), overtime pay, working on saturday or Sunday or holiday was times one and a half, times two and times 3 respectively, and then here. American workers are slaves but don't know it. Labor day - are the stores closed? I bet not! Labor day in Europe is May 1 and everyone, except nurses and a few other necessary workers, have a paid day off.
