A parent in @barrington220 revealed at a meeting this week that her child’s 6th grade teacher assigned the pornographic book “Gender Queer” as summer reading for 11-year-olds.

“The scene describes the son being very shy in front of his boy crush, and his dad comes in and says ‘so nice to meet you! my son talks about you all the time’ and further embarrasses his son… very cute,” he added.

The apparent romance between two boys was supported by a report in the New York Daily News, which described one of the three sequences from the film that was shown at the festival. The teen romance will reportedly be part of the story, but not the main plot, WDWNT noted.

The news comes following the recent release of “Lightyear” from Disney/Pixar, which reportedly included a same-sex kiss between two female animated characters in the movie. The movie has been banned in 14 countries.

United Arab Emirates announced that the film would not be shown in the country “due to its violation of the country’s media standards.”

The movie, which tells the origin story of Buzz Lightyear, had a lackluster opening at the box office, as The Daily Wire previously reported.

Meanwhile, Disney’s much-touted “Lightyear” came out and did surprisingly poorly after a lot of week-of-release talk about the lesbian relationship in the film. The same-sex marriage is a small part of the story and no one should be bothered by the existence of gay people, even in a kids’ movie, but the shocking underperformance must have Disney wondering whether people stayed away because they thought (even if mistakenly) that “Lightyear” was a message movie.
