In light of the COVID pandemic, MonkeyPox and now Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS), it is imperative that we trust our public health experts and officials. That is why I have gathered this helpful list of the top 12 current and some past public health experts and officials who epitomize the public health spirit of trust and integrity.

12) Therese Coffey - The UK’s New Health Minister

New UK Prime Minister Liz Truss has selected her long time friend and ally Thérèse Coffey to be both her heath minister and deputy Prime Minister. From her photos, Thérèse is clearly one of those larger than life people who will soon have a PLUS-SIZED role in public health. More importantly, people can relate to her as she has a reputation for knowing how to enjoy life:

The Health Secretary, who describes herself as ¿a former smoker¿, went on: ¿But I¿m sure that the Chief Medical Officer and others will continue to be role models in that regard and I will do my best as well¿

And unlike certain other public health officials, Thérèse is also very humble and down to earth. In other words, she is relatable to us - the ~~serfs~~ little people:

HOWEVER, I need to point out that Thérèse is one public health official who appears to have ALL the right enemies:

On the other hand, she seems to also have a few WRONG friends…:

So we will have to wait and see how this larger than life figure might make a PLUS-SIZED splash in the world of public health in her new role!

11) Marlene Mortler - Germany’s ex-Commissioner on Narcotic Drugs

The continent and EU countries tends to produce its share of notable public health officials and experts. This would include Bavarian politician Marlene Mortler who served as Commissioner on Narcotic Drugs at the Federal Ministry of Health in the government of Chancellor Angela Merkel from 2014 until 2019.

During her tenure, she ran into some controversy for having a “double standard” when it came to alcohol vs. cannabis - as she heavily promoted the former and opposed the latter. In interviews, she apparently stated that (translated) "in contrast to Cannabis, alcohol is part of our culture" and: "Because Cannabis is an illegal drug. Full stop."

Comments like that, of course, pissed off all the German potheads who started to meme her like crazy:

Being Bavarian though, she could hang out and have a drinking competition with Thérèse over in the UK!

10) Dr. Maggie de Block - Belgium’s Ex-Minister of Health

Another person who has made a PLUS-SIZED splash in the world of EU public health is Belgian Maggie de Block - their now ex-Minister of Health who warranted a much LARGER post last year (see: Meet the (ex-) Health Minister of Belgium - Maggie de Block!).

When Maggie enters a room, she is the kind of PLUS-SIZED public health official who will literally suck up all the oxygen from any room she enters:

During her tenure as health minister, she did her best to ~~smother~~ tackle the health problems her people faced:

And as a politician during the COVID epidemic, she apparently did her best to keep her people safe:

Maggie is no longer health minister but I am sure she will continue to have a PLUS-SIZED role in EU public health and Belgian politics!

9) Beate Hartinger-Klein - Austria’s ex-Minister of Labor, Social Affairs, Health and Consumer Protection

Beate Hartinger-Klein was another public health official from an EU country who became best known for doing what public health officials do best - ~~flip flopping~~ changing her position for political reasons. From her Wikipedia and lightly edited:

At the time the first Kurz government took office, Austria had enacted but not yet implemented a general smoking ban in bars and restaurants. The smoking ban had been passed in 2015 and was meant to go into full effect in May 2018.[7] Heinz-Christian Strache, the populist Freedom Party leader and newly minted vice chancellor, opposed the ban. He demanded and eventually won the People's Party support in overturning the law. Hartinger-Klein initially stated that she was "not happy" about the development but would grudgingly support it out of respect for democracy.[8] She later ~~amended~~ FLIP-FLOPPED her position and declared herself opposed to smoking bans as a matter of principle. It was wrong, she asserted in a debate in the National Council, to forbid hosts from being hospitable, and unhelpful to subject minority rights [THE TURKISH COMMUNITY???] to majority decisions.[7] Commentators, including right-of-center editorialists sympathetic to the cabinet as a whole, ridiculed her ~~change of mind~~ FLIP FLOP.[9][10] Hartinger-Klein's surprise ~~about-face~~ FLIP FLOP had come well after Strache's initiative had turned out to be broadly unpopular.[11]

Oh well…

Maybe she can get a job at Imperial College and have cigars with Thérèse…

8) Dr Neil Ferguson aka “Professor Lockdown” - UK Public Health Advisor

When they aren’t flip-flopping, public health experts or officials are turning the Hippocratic Oath into the Hypocritic Oath or they are just consistently flat out wrong or they are doing both. Imperial College’s Dr Neil Ferguson, aka “Professor Lockdown,” is one such public health expert:

Professor Lockdown was the public health advisor who’s Imperial College team produced the computer model claiming more than 500,000 Britons would die without lockdowns.

However and on at least two occasions during the COVID lockdowns and in clear violation of public health rules based on his models, Antonia Staats (a married ho woman…) travelled across London from her home in the south of the capital to ~~shack up~~ spend quality time with Professor Lockdown…:

7) Dr. Demetre Daskalakis - New York Public Health Official and White House Monkeypox Coordinator

President Joe Biden’s new Deputy Monkeypox Coordinator is a public health official you can trust.

Dr. Demetre Daskalakis is “a progressive, radical gay doctor” serving in the Division of Disease Control at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. He has already made a name for himself in certain communities that are highly susceptible to Monkeypox (see: Top 10 Ways to Protect Yourself From Monkeypox and Top 10 Monkeypox Protection Products to Keep You Safe at a Pride Event) and will fit right in at the White House as he is apparently a proud member of the Church of Satan:

No word on whether he has had the Monkeypox yet as he would definitely fall into the high risk category…

6) Admiral Richard Rachel Levine - United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps

If there is another larger than life public health official that you can feel comfortable having around your children and in charge of your state’s nursing home policies, its Admiral ~~Richard~~ Rachel Levine who continues to make a PLUS-SIZED splash in public health.

He ~~She~~ It is a professor of pediatrics and psychiatry at the Penn State College of Medicine, and previously served as the Pennsylvania physician general from 2015 to 2017 and as secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Health from 2017 to 2021.

On March 18, 2020, Levine directed Pennsylvania nursing homes to admit new patients, including stable patients recovering from the COVID-19 virus who were released from the hospital. However in May, Levine moved ~~his~~ ~~her~~ it’s own mother out of a nursing home. Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf defended he ~~she~~ it by saying: "Dr. Levine has done a phenomenal job in making sure we do what we need to do to keep Pennsylvanians safe…"

On February 13, 2021, President Joe Biden made history by formally nominated Levine to serve as Assistant Secretary for Health where he ~~she~~ it spends ~~his~~ ~~her~~ their time promoting ~~castrations and mastectomies~~ gender affirming care...

5) Deborah Birx aka Scarf Lady - ex-White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator

Deborah Birx aka Scarf Lady became one of the faces of the COVID pandemic.

However, Scarf Lady announced retirement soon after news broke that she hosted three generations of her own family from two households during Thanksgiving after she had urged Americans to restrict such gatherings to "your immediate household…" Her explanation:

"My daughter hasn't left that house in 10 months, my parents have been isolated for 10 months. They've become deeply depressed as I'm sure many elderly have as they've not been able to see their sons, their granddaughters. My parents have not been able to see their surviving son for over a year. These are all very difficult things…"

I AM SURE WE CAN ALL RELATE TO WHAT THEY WERE GOING THROUGH….………

Since leaving government, Scarf Lady has done what public health officials do best: She has ~~flip flopped~~ changed her position while rewriting history at the same time:

4) Christine Grady - Head of the Department of Bioethics at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center

Christine Grady is one public health official who is not well known by the general public, but she should be known primarily for one reason and one reason only:

3) Shirō Ishii - ex-Director of Unit 731, aka the “Epidemic Prevention and Water Purification Department of the Kwantung Army”

History tends to repeat itself with the lives of past public health experts or officials mirroring those of their modern day counterparts.

Surgeon General Shirō Ishii was a Japanese microbiologist and army medical officer who, starting in 1936, served as the director of Unit 731 - officially known as the Epidemic Prevention and Water Purification Department of the Kwantung Army in Manchuria. This unit conducted a wide variety of germ and infectious disease related research and experiments in what is now China. DOES THAT SOUND FAMILIAR???

Ishii served as the head of the unit until 1945 when it was disbanded. He then went to work for the US government before returning to a quiet life in Japan where he died of throat cancer in 1959.

2) Josef Mengele - ex-Auschwitz Public Health official

Dr. Josef Mengele is another historical public health official who’s career mirrored the careers of some prominent modern public health counterparts. Mengele received doctorates in anthropology and medicine, and began a career as a researcher before becoming a battalion medical officer at the start of World War II.

In early 1943, Mengele became a public health official at Auschwitz where he received both awards and promotions for his epidemic fighting abilities. He also made a name for himself by conducting special scientific research and experiments on pregnant women and children. DOES THAT SOUND FAMILIAR???

After the war ended, Mengele retired first to Argentina, then Paraguay and finally to Brazil where he quietly passed away in 1979.

1) Anthony Fauci - National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Chief Medical Advisor to the President

IF there is one person who epitomizes the humble spirit of the public health profession and expert class, that would be ~~our lord and saviour~~ Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Fauci needs little introduction because he has been at the forefront of ~~every disaster~~ recent U.S. efforts to contend with viral diseases like HIV/AIDS, SARS, the Swine flu, MERS, Ebola and of course COVID:

BUT Fauci will be retiring soon…

No word on whether he might choose to retire to one of the same places Dr. Mengele retired to but we shall see…
